Introducing my retro buttons – sourced from an old, unused stock of buttons and buckles, most likely made in France.

Set of 8 vintage galalith buttons in deep brown tones. Each button measures 30mm and features a wide rim with a recessed domed center, giving it a structured and dimensional look. The four-hole sew-through design includes a recessed sew-through area, allowing thread to sit slightly below the surface.

These buttons have a smooth, polished surface with a slightly rounded outer rim. Ideal for coats, jackets, and other structured garments, they offer durability while maintaining a classic vintage appeal.

Some buttons show subtle variations in tone and surface wear consistent with age. Sold as-is.
And what is casein? Casein, from which galalith buttons are made, is technically a type of plastic but with natural origins. It's derived from milk protein, so while it's a manufactured material, it's not a synthetic plastic like acrylic or polyester. Casein is often classified as a semi-synthetic material, as it combines natural components with a chemical process to create the final product.
