Set of 3 Vintage Galalith Buttons – Unique Swirled Horn Effect

Introducing my vintage buttons – sourced from an old, unused stock of buttons and buckles, most likely made in France.

This set of three vintage casein buttons features an eye-catching swirled horn effect, creating a striking contrast between dark and light tones. Each button has a unique coloration, ranging from deep brown to smoky cream, adding to their individuality.

The structure includes a slightly curved surface with a distinctive four-hole sew-through area, making them suitable for coats, jackets, or high-end tailoring projects. Measuring between 28mm and 30mm, these buttons are lightweight yet durable, offering a refined look with a touch of mid-century craftsmanship.

And what is casein? Casein, from which galalith buttons are made, is technically a type of plastic but with natural origins. It's derived from milk protein, so while it's a manufactured material, it's not a synthetic plastic like acrylic or polyester. Casein is often classified as a semi-synthetic material, as it combines natural components with a chemical process to create the final product.
