Introducing my vintage buttons – sourced from an old, unused stock of buttons and buckles, most likely made in France.
Set of two teal green casein buttons, each measuring 20 mm in diameter. These retro buttons feature a classic rounded shape with a recessed center, highlighting the tapered sides that give a unique, elevated profile. The matte finish and sturdy casein material make them perfect for jackets, coats, or any garment needing a vintage touch. Their slightly conical shape offers both style and functionality, ideal for vintage enthusiasts and designers seeking quality materials.
And what is casein? Casein, from which galalith buttons are made, is technically a type of plastic but with natural origins. It's derived from milk protein, so while it's a manufactured material, it's not a synthetic plastic like acrylic or polyester. Casein is often classified as a semi-synthetic material, as it combines natural components with a chemical process to create the final product.
NOTE: please note that colours may slightly differ in reality due to variations in screen types and the effects of photography.
