Introducing my vintage buttons – sourced from an old, unused stock of buttons and buckles, most likely made in France.
This set of 10 vintage Galalith buttons features a soft, creamy finish with a simple, smooth two-hole design. Each button measures 20mm, offering a classic look suited for various sewing or crafting projects. The durable Galalith material adds a touch of subtle elegance, making these buttons a versatile choice for garments or accessories needing a refined, understated detail.
And what is casein? Casein, from which galalith buttons are made, is technically a type of plastic but with natural origins. It's derived from milk protein, so while it's a manufactured material, it's not a synthetic plastic like acrylic or polyester. Casein is often classified as a semi-synthetic material, as it combines natural components with a chemical process to create the final product.
NOTE: please note that colours may slightly differ in reality due to variations in screen types and the effects of photography.
