Introducing my vintage buttons – sourced from an old, unused stock of buttons and buckles, most likely made in France.
This set of 10 casein buttons measuring 23 mm in diameter feature a translucent, frosted surface with soft gray tones, adding a subtle look to any project. Their flat design and two-hole construction make them a versatile option for lightweight garments or accessories.
The frosted gray finish adds texture to the buttons, perfect for adding character to any sewing project or vintage-inspired creation.
And what is casein? Casein, from which galalith buttons are made, is technically a type of plastic but with natural origins. It's derived from milk protein, so while it's a manufactured material, it's not a synthetic plastic like acrylic or polyester. Casein is often classified as a semi-synthetic material, as it combines natural components with a chemical process to create the final product.
NOTE: please note that colours may slightly differ in reality due to variations in screen types and the effects of photography.
