Antique Handmade Religious Filet Lace Altar Border – 400 × 20 cm

Antique handmade embroidered filet lace border, likely originally intended for an altar cloth or other church textile.

The design features repeating grape clusters and vine leaves with raised embroidered details, and a single Sacred Heart of Jesus motif in the centre. The lower edge has a scalloped finish.

A plain fabric strip is sewn along the upper edge, possibly to facilitate attachment to a larger textile.

Conditions:

Excellent antique condition. The lace is well preserved, with some age marks and a small reddish stain on the upper fabric strip.
