  • Dimensions: 300 cm wide × 230 cm long
  • Fabric fiber: pure linen
  • Color: light cream
  • Country of origin: Belgium

This antique Belgian curtain is made from Swiss pure linen with a very fine, soft weave. The linen has a high level of transparency, allowing light to filter through the panel and highlighting the lace border. The panel is very large, measuring 300 cm wide × 230 cm long, and finished with a narrow lace trim on the vertical edges and a clean top edge.

The highlight of this curtain is its 48 cm wide lace border, handmade Bruges Duchesse tape lace. The lace shows floral and scroll motifs with tape-style construction, spider grounds, mesh, and net fillings. The irregularities and density indicate it was handmade, not machine produced. This unusually wide lace border is rare on curtains and adds significant value.

All details are intact and in impeccable condition, with no stains or visible wear. This piece is a high-quality antique linen panel that can be used as a window curtain, lace drapery, or decorative textile. It is valued by collectors, interior designers, and textile artists for creative reuse in sewing and interior projects.

Specifications:

Conditions: Antique, in excellent condition. The linen and lace are clean and well preserved, with no stains, holes, or visible wear. Color shades may vary slightly between screens. I aim to show items as accurately as possible and note any visible wear or damage.

Care Instructions:

- Preferred: Dry clean, to protect the lace and stitching.

- If washing at home: Hand wash separately in cold or lukewarm water with a mild soap.

- Avoid: Bleach, strong detergents, wringing, or tumble drying — these damage linen fibers and lace.

- Drying: Lay flat on a towel or line dry in the shade (avoid direct sun, which weakens fibers).

- Ironing: Use medium heat while the fabric is still slightly damp, with a pressing cloth if needed to protect the lace.
