Introducing my vintage buttons – sourced from an old, unused stock of buttons and buckles, most likely made in France or Belgium.
These vintage buttons come on a set of 10, each measuring 22mm in diameter in a pale cream tone. Made from durable galalith, featuring a layered edge, slightly stepped rim that adds a bit of texture without being overly decorative. The smooth matte finish and four-hole design make them versatile for sewing projects, offering a simple yet sturdy option for garments or accessories. The soft, neutral color works well with various fabrics and styles.
And what is casein? Casein, from which galalith buttons are made, is technically a type of plastic but with natural origins. It's derived from milk protein, so while it's a manufactured material, it's not a synthetic plastic like acrylic or polyester. Casein is often classified as a semi-synthetic material, as it combines natural components with a chemical process to create the final product.
NOTE: please note that colours may slightly differ in reality due to variations in screen types and the effects of photography.
