A long piece of antique handmade religious filet lace, measuring 450 cm in length and 25 cm in width.

Worked on an open knotted net ground, this piece features two alternating religious motifs: an IHS monogram and a decorative cross with raised embroidery. The designs repeat along the length, with one central IHS motif identified by a small red mark on the original fabric heading.

The embroidery is particularly dense and substantial, with raised stitched details, decorative openwork sections and a scalloped lower edge. The original fabric heading remains attached.

A large piece of traditional Catholic church lace, suitable for an altar frontal, liturgical textile collection or historical textile restoration.
