Antique Handmade Religious Filet Lace with Hearts and Crosses – 420 × 13 cm

Antique handmade filet lace featuring a repeating pattern of hearts, crosses and small floral motifs on an open net background.

The lace has a scalloped lower edge and an original fabric band along the top. It was likely made in the early 20th century and is suitable for altar linens, church textiles and restoration projects.

One continuous antique piece, sold as shown.

Conditions:

Very good antique condition. The lace feels quite stiff, possibly from its original starching. Some loose threads are visible along the fabric heading (see picture), consistent with its age. No significant damage is apparent in the photographs.

Care Instructions:

- If washing at home: Hand wash separately in cold or lukewarm water with a mild soap.

- Avoid: Bleach, strong detergents, wringing, or tumble drying — these damage linen fibers and lace.

- Drying: Lay flat on a towel or line dry in the shade (avoid direct sun, which weakens fibers).

- Ironing: Use medium heat while the fabric is still slightly damp, with a pressing cloth if needed to protect the lace.
