A lovely long piece of antique handmade filet lace with a repeating floral pattern, scrolling leaves and a shaped scalloped edge.

The filet lace is joined to a plain fabric heading by a narrow handmade bobbin lace insertion, combining two traditional lace-making techniques in one piece.

The pattern repeats throughout the entire length, with no religious motifs. Originally made as a decorative textile border, it could be reused for curtains, table linens or other sewing and textile projects.

Conditions:

Excellent antique condition. The lace is well preserved, with no significant damage observed. Please refer to the photographs for details.

Care Instructions:

- If washing at home: Hand wash separately in cold or lukewarm water with a mild soap.

- Avoid: Bleach, strong detergents, wringing, or tumble drying — these damage linen fibers and lace.

- Drying: Lay flat on a towel or line dry in the shade (avoid direct sun, which weakens fibers).

- Ironing: Use medium heat while the fabric is still slightly damp, with a pressing cloth if needed to protect the lace.
