Antique Handmade Filet Lace Altar Frontal with Crosses & Tassels – 350 cm

Antique handmade filet lace panel, probably dating from the early 20th century.

A substantial, heavier piece, possibly originally made as an altar frontal.

The pattern features alternating crosses and decorative motifs throughout, with what appears to be a Chi-Rho (Christogram) symbol at the centre. Finished with a shaped lower edge, hanging tassel fringe and a plain fabric heading.

Conditions:

Very good antique condition. Some minor age marks, but the lace itself is in very good condition.

Care Instructions:

- If washing at home: Hand wash separately in cold or lukewarm water with a mild soap.

- Avoid: Bleach, strong detergents, wringing, or tumble drying — these damage linen fibers and lace.

- Drying: Lay flat on a towel or line dry in the shade (avoid direct sun, which weakens fibers).
