Antique Handmade Crochet Lace Border with Fringe – 340 × 30 cm

Antique handmade crochet lace border, probably dating from the early 20th century.

A long piece featuring an open geometric pattern with circular motifs, finished with knotted fringe along the lower edge and a woven fabric heading.

Possibly originally made for church or altar use, although the design has no specific religious symbols. It could also be repurposed for curtains, home textiles, clothing, decorative projects or antique textile restoration.

Conditions:

Good antique condition overall, with some small breaks and areas of damaged stitching in the crochet work. The fabric heading has visible age-related brown marks and a few small holes. The crochet lace itself has very little visible staining. Please examine the photographs for details.

Care Instructions:

- If washing at home: Hand wash separately in cold or lukewarm water with a mild soap.

- Avoid: Bleach, strong detergents, wringing, or tumble drying — these damage linen fibers and lace.

- Drying: Lay flat on a towel or line dry in the shade (avoid direct sun, which weakens fibers).

- Ironing: Use medium heat while the fabric is still slightly damp, with a pressing cloth if needed to protect the lace.
