Introducing my vintage buttons – sourced from an old, unused stock of buttons and buckles, most likely made in France.
This set of 5 mock horn buttons, measuring 33mm in diameter, features a mock horn appearance with a rich brown color and subtle marbled texture, mimicking the natural look of horn. Each casein button showcases a grainy surface, while the rounded edges add a soft, refined touch to their rustic aesthetic. The two-hole construction ensures secure attachment, making these retro buttons a practical choice for heavy garments like coats or jackets.
Highly desired by vintage enthusiasts these casein buttons for adding timeless character to outerwear and vintage-style projects.
And what is casein? Casein, from which galalith buttons are made, is technically a type of plastic but with natural origins. It's derived from milk protein, so while it's a manufactured material, it's not a synthetic plastic like acrylic or polyester. Casein is often classified as a semi-synthetic material, as it combines natural components with a chemical process to create the final product.
NOTE: please note that colours may slightly differ in reality due to variations in screen types and the effects of photography.
