Introducing my vintage buttons – sourced from an old, unused stock of buttons and buckles, most likely made in France.
This set of 8 retro buttons, each measuring 30 mm in diameter, showcases a warm blend of brown and beige tones. The front features a slightly concave surface, encircled by a rim that adds depth and definition to the design. The back has a gentle dome shape, providing a solid base for secure attachment.
Crafted from durable casein, these buttons have a polished finish that complements a variety of fabrics. Their classic four-hole design and understated vintage appeal make them versatile for sewing projects, from coats and cardigans to accessories. These casein buttons are well-suited for sewing enthusiasts and collectors alike.
And what is casein? Casein, from which galalith buttons are made, is technically a type of plastic but with natural origins. It's derived from milk protein, so while it?s a manufactured material, it's not a synthetic plastic like acrylic or polyester. Casein is often classified as a semi-synthetic material, as it combines natural components with a chemical process to create the final product.
NOTE: please note that colours may slightly differ in reality due to variations in screen types and the effects of photography.
