Introducing my vintage buttons – sourced from an old, unused stock of buttons and buckles, most likely made in France.
These retro buttons are in a muted olive green colour, providing a natural and earthy look that pairs well with the rough, grainy textured surface on one side and the smooth matte finish on the other. Each casein button has a four-hole design, measuring 21 mm in diameter, offering versatility for various sewing or crafting projects.
These are an excellent choice for garments or accessories needing a vintage look. The pebbled surface on one side adds a tactile and visual contrast, making them a standout option for anyone looking to add an interesting element to their project. The set includes 8 buttons, giving you plenty of material to work with for embellishments or restoration projects.
And what is casein? Casein, from which galalith buttons are made, is technically a type of plastic but with natural origins. It's derived from milk protein, so while it's a manufactured material, it's not a synthetic plastic like acrylic or polyester. Casein is often classified as a semi-synthetic material, as it combines natural components with a chemical process to create the final product.
NOTE: please note that colours may slightly differ in reality due to variations in screen types and the effects of photography.
