This is a set of 12 round antique and French bread doilies. A bobbin lace plate liner, handmade in linen lace in the early part of the 20th century in the traditional bobbin lace-making region of Retournac, Haute-Loire, France. Each doily features a central square of linen fabric surrounded by an openwork bobbin lace pattern. The design includes four symmetrical petal-like motifs around the center, with a delicate border of looped lacework.
Ensuring authenticity and quality, these plate doilies are:
- Perfect as a decorative set of liners for bread plates in fine dining table settings and also serve as a protective layer between the plate and the table.
- Can also be used under small decorative items, such as vases or candleholders, adding a refined, coordinated vintage touch.
- Ideal for collectors of traditional French lace or vintage table linens.
